Thanks for Your Support!
More than 5500 people connected

On behalf of the Michigan Cover the Uninsured Network, and the over 1.2 million Michigan residents who are uninsured, I want to thank you for your time and support in organizing the Health Expo during Cover the Uninsured Week 2009 (CTUW).

The efforts this year to raise awareness and take action to find a solution to the growing crisis of the uninsured in America, and more specifically here in Michigan, were truly amazing. More than 5,500 people attended the Health Expo this year, and more than 750 applications were completed to enroll individuals and families in state, county and city health insurance programs.

The WEEK is over but our work is just beginning. Over the next weeks and months, the Michigan Cover the Uninsured Network will be engaging policy makers and opinion leaders in discussing real solutions both here in Michigan and in Washington, D.C.

We have immediate opportunities to strengthen the safety net in local communities and insure that SCHIP and Stimulus dollars are used to expand coverage to uninsured and underinsured families and children in Michigan who face enormous challenges.

Again, many thanks for your support and participation in Cover the Uninsured Week 2009.  We look forward to continuing our work together on this issue.
